At MacArthur High School, we believe that Chess can be a challenging opportunity for students of all ethnic and financial backgrounds. No student is ever turned away because of a lack of money or ability. We reject the practice of limiting out team to just the strongest players, and have in fact learned that one cannot always predict who the strongest players will be. We are willing to assist any club, even rivals, in developing a strong Chess program in their schools.
Thankfully, we have found that the majority of Houston Area Schools share our commitment to excellence and diversity.
